Welcome to FOVGFriends of Villa Grande is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation formed in 2007 to purchase and care for the riparian land known as Patterson Point Preserve. FoVG is an all-volunteer organization governed by a Board of Directors elected at an annual membership meeting. As stewards of Patterson Point, we are restoring and maintaining the natural features of the property for the benefit of residents, friends and visitors. |
The purposes of Friends of Villa Grande are: To manage and restore Patterson Point Preserve To oversee recreational use of the Preserve To preserve Villa Grande’s historic and unique character To enhance quality of life for the Villa Grande community |
When you join FoVG, your membership dues support services on PPP, including trash and toilet. We also pay stewards to remove invasive weeds from the most challenging areas on the Preserve. FoVG additionally supports community events, including holiday celebrations, emergency preparations exercises, informative meetings and newsletters. A full listing of upcoming events is available here. Your FoVG membership entitles you to some benefits as well. For those living in the Villa Grande area, we have a contract with a propane supplier to receive a healthy member discount. To see if your house is in the discount service area, click here. To email for more information, please click here. For three months in the summer, Friends of Villa Grande members may rent space on a securely anchored chain to lock up their kayak or canoe. This program is especially popular with members living in the Terraces. Click here for more information. As an FoVG member, you may also purchase Villa Grande apparel at a discount and attend member-only events, including an annual progressive House & Garden party. We invite you to join Friends of Villa Grande, and we can always use your help, whether it be by serving on a committee or coming out to pull weeds in the Preserve. FoVG is a volunteer organization, and have a look here to see about getting involved. Thank you for supporting Friends of Villa Grande! There’s a lot more to the history of FoVG – how it came to be, how it was funded and how it is governed – here. |
