Boat Anchorage

Patterson Point Preserve was purchased by Friends of Villa Grande in September 2009. As one of its guiding principles, FoVG is committed to keeping the area open and accessible to Villa Grande and the surrounding community. From May to October each year, FoVG secures a heavy chain on the PPP gravel beach and rents space for human-powered craft to members on a first come, first serve basis.

FoVG members in good standing may apply for one spot to lock their kayak, canoe, SUP or other non-motorized watercraft to the chain for the season. Announcements about open enrollment each spring are sent in our newsletter and enrollment is posted on our Events page.

To enroll, members must submit a signed liability waiver with the annual fee. Once approved, an authorization sticker for the season will be provided to affix to the watercraft. Only daylight public access to the chain is allowed since overnight activities are prohibited. Boats that are not authorized and left overnight will be removed.
