Cardboard Needed for Sheet Mulching:
As we mentioned in our last member newsletter, there is an area of the Preserve that needs sheet-mulching, which means placing newsprint and cardboard on the ground to suppress the spread of invasive weeds. We know that printed and delivered newspapers are not common nowadays, but if anyone is still getting newsprint, we really could use it. We also need brown cardboard without colored plastic coating. Please remove any plastic sealing tape if you can, but we'll accept any standard cardboard either in sheets or boxes. Drop off any cardboard or newsprint in the Preserve's utility area (by the trash cans) or at Roberto's house on the corner of 3rd & Russian River Ave (21865 Russian River Ave). Please drop off by Monday, November 18. Thanks.
We're in full restoration mode and interested members are welcome to help continue the ongoing weeding & restoration of the Preserve. Come for whatever or how much time you can. Bring gloves and warm clothes. Rainy days will be rescheduled.
