Friends of Villa Grande is always looking for volunteers to plan and staff events, maintain Patterson Point Preserve, and help the organization run smoothly. We have many opportunities such as distributing song books and kazoos at the 4th of July celebration, weeding in the Preserve on planned workdays, contributing articles to the monthly newsletter, and serving on the FoVG Board.

If you have time and energy to contribute, please email us directly at friends@villagrande.org with your area of interest and we'll put you in touch with an activity coordinator.

Boat Anchorage 2026 (2026-03-23)

Friends of Villa Grande members may anchor one boat (canoe, kayak, paddle board, etc.) on the FoVG chain from Saturday, May 2 until Sunday October 11, 2026. Cost is $150 and owners use their own lock to secure watercraft to the heavy chain.

To apply, download, fill out and sign the 2026 waiver form. Return instructions are on the form.

2026 4th of July: Celebration, Parade and After Party (2026-07-04)

Celebrate Villa Grande's 35th consecutive Independence Day celebration and the 250th birthday of the United States of America. Flaunt your red, white and blue outfit, or dress as a revolutionary, and join the festivities!

Volunteers are always needed to help with set-up, distributing song books & kazoos, and selling drinks & merchandise. Stop by our table to introduce yourself and lend a hand!

Schedule:

3:30 p.m. Set-up
4:00 p.m. Gather in the Town Square (outside the old General Store). Grab a kazoo for the kids (donations welcome!).
4:30 p.m. Cheer on our independence from England in 1776, and Villa Grande's ongoing independence from Monte Rio. Rich Holmer will read portions of the Declaration of Independence (with his always entertaining commentary).
5:00 p.m. Bring the kids and kazoos to the steps of the old VG Hotel and sing or hum patriotic songs led by Kyla and the Kids' Kazoo Khorus, accompanied by the HubBub Club Band. Follow the HubBub Band parade around town, ending at the VG Firehouse Plaza.
5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Villa Grande Firehouse Fundraising Fair & Concert with dancing to the Fargo Brothers
- Join or renew your FoVG membership
- Buy some FoVG merchandise
- Red, White and Brew for sale (21 and over)
- Taco Truck (food available for purchase)
- Kids Kookie Bar

Annual Members Meeting (2026-07-05)

Join FoVG members and Board members for coffee & goodies starting at 10 a.m. with the formal meeting beginning at 10:30. There will be updated information regarding septic rules, FoVG financial status as well as voting for new Board members.

Eat, Drink & Be Merry with fellow Friends as we are welcomed into two special homes on Monte Vista Terrace.

ACCESSIBILITY ALERT: host homes have multiple stairs.

Due to space considerations our generous hosts can accommodate a maximum of 40 attendees for the party. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.
